The Digital Textbook

Five different 7th grade World Studies classes worked asynchronously to create a Digital Textbook chapter about the First Agricultural Revolution. 163 students composed and edited this one Google Doc. Headings were provided by me, but the rest is all them.

Globalization Blog Post

This lesson is designed to be a capstone project that will allow students to demonstrate their understanding of globalization at the end of a geography unit on East Asia. The project also introduces students to the idea of blogging as a means to communicate ideas. Students are assessed on their understanding of social studies content, in addition to this digital communication skill.

Political Parody (A Lesson on Copyright and Fair Use)

This lesson is designed to prepare students for creating their own creative works by teaching them about copyright and fair use policy. This lesson should be given toward the start of a term as it is an ideological framework that should be applied to all published works.

Political Blogging WebQuest

In this WebQuest, students are given the challenge of becoming a political blogger. They create their own blog and then conduct research to write an opinionated blog post. This lesson is meant to establish blogging as a classroom fixture to be revisited throughout the given course.
